A rare original Art Deco Necklace circa 1930 is set with 12 natural unheated Sapphires weighting 48 cts. They are a modified oval mixed cut of medium light tones with a slightly violet blue color and mounted in a prong setting. The intermittent pierced links hold 14 natural white Sapphires weighting 2ct.. The origin of the Sapphires is thought to be Sri Lanka. The 15 inch necklace suspends an oval Sapphire drop falling 1 and a quarter inch below. The box clasp holds 2 additional step cut medium dark Sapphires and this necklace is in very good condition.
