An large Antique Handmade Rose Gold Locket circa 1850. It measures 3" in length with ornate gold framework surrounding a crisp white crystal which opens to form a double sided oval locket. Embellishing the top of the opening is a detailed Putti carrying a torch representing angelic innocence. The ornate low karat rose gold frame ( about 8kt., typical of the era ) shows Etruscan Revival elements set with tiny Rubies and seed Pearls and handmade swag and fringe detail. It measures three inches by two inches and is in very good condition.
